Sections

Your primary navigation menu consists of two types of sections: Single and Multiple.

Your primary navigation menu in Breedpost is built using Sections, which provide structure and organization to your site's navigation. There are two main types of sections you can use:

Single Section

  • Purpose: Acts as a container for a single webpage.

  • Use Case: Ideal for standalone pages, such as:

    • About Us

    • Blog

    • Contact Us

  • How It Works: Once you create a Single Section, you can add one page to it. This keeps your navigation clean and straightforward.

Multiple Section

  • Purpose: A dropdown menu that can hold several related pages.

  • Use Case: Perfect for grouping similar pages under one main heading, such as:

    • Our Dogs (Dropdown)

      • Males

      • Females

      • Retired

    • Blog (Dropdown)

      • Training Tips

      • Health Advice

      • Success Stories

  • Best Practice: Multiple Sections should contain at least three pages. If you only have two pages, consider using a Single Section instead for simplicity.

Why Use Sections?

  • Organize Your Navigation: Sections ensure your menu is well-structured and user-friendly.

  • Control Content Display: Decide which pages are visible in your menu and how they are grouped.

  • Flexibility: Adjust your sections at any time to match your website’s growth and content needs.

Example Navigation Setup

Here's how a typical site might use sections for a clear, user-friendly navigation:

  • Home (Single Section)

  • Our Dogs (Multiple Section)

    • Males

    • Females

    • Retired

  • Puppies (Multiple Section)

    • Current Litters

    • Upcoming Litters

    • Past Litters

  • Blog (Multiple Section)

    • Training Tips

    • Health Advice

    • Success Stories

  • Contact Us (Single Section with CTA)

Naming Your Sections Effectively

  • Be Clear and Descriptive: Use names that clearly describe the content, like "Our Dogs" or "Contact Us."

  • Avoid Overly Long Names: Keep section names short and to the point.

  • Use Consistent Formatting: Maintain consistent capitalization (e.g., "Our Dogs" instead of "our dogs").

  • Match User Expectations: Think about what your visitors are looking for and name sections accordingly.

⚡️ Tip: Establishing your sections first creates a strong foundation for your navigation menu, making it easy to add and organize pages later.
